I have 3 years of experience in Datastage production support experience in an MNC . I am now deployed on SAP BW project after being trained on 10 day ABAP+BW training.What should i do switch on datastage or stay and switch after some months on SAP BW

I have 3 years of experience in Datastage production support experience in an MNC . I am now deployed on SAP BW project after being trained on 10 day ABAP+BW training.What should i do switch on datastage or stay and switch after some months on SAP BW .Please help as i am all messed up and confused because people say SAP BW is really hot skill as of now and i can switch after 6 months of experience

Hi Ashish,
Why is your company wanting you to work on BW? Since you are already working on Datastage so you will know how the current demand of it and how it may going to be in the future ( at least some analytical guess . If your company wants you to work on both then it is an opportunity for you to be multi skilled but if they want you to switch to BW completely then you need to take a decision about it considering your interest, current situation and some research about the job market for BW.
Now, since your company is using BW that means it is in demand and organizations need are using it. the ultimate question of which technology/product is going to be hot in the future is a question that bothers many and is difficult to predict as there are always new products being developed and introduced. The best thing is to know 2-3 products very well and have a sound hold on it.

As you wrote, you have 3 year of Exp In DATASTAGE, Then why you want to come in SAP BW.
yeah its not a hot skill now i days in SAP market. Now a days jQuery.sap - SAPUI5 , SAP Hana
are the highly demanded skills in SAP.

I think there is nothing wrong from switching from Datastage to SAP BW, In such way you will enter the world of SAP as well as understand process of the Industry which will help you lot in future.
