Hi Mahesh,

First of all, congratulation for becoming a certified SAP consultant.

I suggest you to Surf through all the JOB portals, short list the job most appropriate for you.

The most IMP thing is DO NOT USE COMMON CV FOR APPLYING TO ALL THESE JOB.

Modify your CV for applying to each JOB keeping job description in mind. In other word as per Job description tailor-made your CV so that you get interview call for sure.

Instead of applying 1000 job with common CV apply only 10 most appropriate job with Tailor-made CV.

The second most IMP thing is NEVER USE WORD FRESHER.

Keep this statement in your mind that "No employer is willing to conduct a training institute."

You are a certified consultant, be confident and go KING SIZE.

Till the time you get your JOB keep sharing your knowledge and keep training your Juniors. This will help refreshing and gaining more knowledge.

Do not hesitate to ask any further questions.

Wish you all the very best and wish all your dreams come true.

Regards

Chirag Shah

Hi Mahesh,

I am assuming you are not a US Citizen and are asking for the pathways to legally work in the US starting from overseas.

I am by no means an expert in this area, but I'll tell you what I know.

The United States has a work visa program called H1B which allows highly skilled non-US citizens to work in the United States. The government has an annual cap of 65,000 H1B visas, with an additional 20,000 visas available to individuals holding a master's or higher degree from a U.S. institution. The initial visa is good for 3 years but can be extended to 6 years. After 6 years you must leave the US for 1 year before you are eligible for another H1B.

The catch is that you need a sponsor to get an H1B Visa and that sponsor has to put up a decent chunk of cash (>$2000) to sponsor your visa. If successful, you are then ONLY ALLOWED TO WORK FOR THE SPONSOR.

That last piece opens up a whole world of exploitation possibilities. 1) You can pretty much count on getting a substandard salary and no raises for the three years 2) You can expect to work like a dog for those three years since the sponsor has the ability to send you home at a moment's notice. 3) Benefits will probably be substandard at best. You can probably imagine other possible issues when there is such a power imbalance.  Although there are laws to protect immigrants from the worst type of exploitation, some employers are quite adept at finding the gray areas. I'm not saying that everyone looking to sponsor H1B visas is a villain, only that the possibility for deceit exists and should be guarded against.  Although I have no direct knowledge of this, I would imagine the competition for H1B sponsored jobs is pretty fierce.

Once in the US, you can convert your H1B visa to permanant resident status if you find an employer who is willing to offer you a permanent job and sponsor you. The process is extremely long and should be started immediately on arrival if that is your intent. If you marry a US citizen, you can get a green card that way as well.

If you google H1B visa, you should find a number of sites that will step you through the process.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

  --Tom

P.S. Anyone out there on an H1B visa care to chime in with your experiences? I'd love to hear them! -td

dear, 6 months experience often is not enough to get a job especially in consulting area.

i guess you have just one support-project role which means nothing to get H1B visa

work hard, get much more experience and skills and try to get a work visa next couple years.

good luck
