Hi,
As you are already a End User of SAP you should be well aware of the purchasing and Inventory Management process to be a MM consultant. Initially try to practice all the business scenarios and complete the process cycles which are implemented in your organisation. After which try to figure out the prerequisites (eg,Vendor,Material master etc) which you are using in the cycle try to prepare the same.Post which start exploring the config settings made for these cycle to work. Gradually start exploring other module related settings made. Eventually you will be a consultant on your own.

Rohith,
I like your post / suggestions but I feel that you have made it very concise. In the real world, every level (what you discuss in part of sentence or a sentence) could take years.
Also, I think, making it so concise, might not help the OP, he would not be able to take away tangible goals, plan of action.

shaan,
First narrow you scope, thinking of learning multiple modules is unrealistic, at an very initial stage. Pick one module and give it few years. As you are getting a chance to become an MM enduser, you should focus on MM.
Make a plan, set a time line for example in 2 to 3 years, of being an MM end user, you will understand the major MM processes of your company. You will know how to complete all steps in SAP MM. Get an understanding of the problems business faces from both a system and business process pov.
