Hi, this is Girish, i have done a SAP FICO course with a local institution. I want to know what s the difference between learning from an institution and real time working? what are the steps involved in real time implementation? Can anybody help me?

Hi Girish,

A few things you should know or should have learnt includes (1. How does an organization/company/entity benefits from using SAP for business. 2. What is the role of an FI & CO Consultant in a company that uses SAP. 3. In your training you should have asked the trainer about the implementation steps of FI/CO modules). In training you get some scenario as part of explaining the concept and application of techniques that may be close to issues/challenges based on realtime business activities. Real time issues are different and depends upon the type of business an organization does and the regions that it operates in and the regulations that it has to deal with. A lot depends upon the way SAP is implemented in the organization.

You can Learn SAP in any Institute...Learning doesnt matter ...but U need to grab the Concept behind every Part....So SCN is the better way for for learning real time Issue ...

In the institution, i have learnt abt configuration of basic settings, GL a/c configuration, Housebamk configuration, APP in AP, Dunning, Tax structure, Asset accounting and CO related concepts.

l am learned SAP FICO from Local institute , it does"nt where you are learning SAP Course , most important 1. How Much u gain Knowledge from that

                2. How u had practice .. etc

from local it doesn't have certification other things same ..

Difference between learning from an institution and real time working?

I working in company In SAP FICO .. i am confident about what learned from institute ... but in real time its Big difference from learning ...

At institute level

Example:-

1. Make Entry vendor transaction

Normally 

Purchase A/c Dr.

      To Vendor Cr

Real time this transaction will Auto Generated transaction.. with Integration of MM Module . of Account determination ...

2. In real time Configuration will as per Business requirement will in depth of SAP

Example - of Conf

1. Bill of Exchange

2. Interest Rate Caln

3. With Holding tax - Define Bus.place , Define Section code, Rounding rule,

4.Valuation area,

5. Document splitting ... many more.

In Institute like movie trailer ... real time like YOU WATCHING MOVIE in Theater... (PVR Like)

Its being good ,, SAP learning process ... it cannot be THE END ....

I am not a big adviser, I had to struggle and miss my roles here in Bangalore itself. I had taken training from two local centers. I had shown SAP IDES Practice session in my cv and I got mails directly from companies where in they had a requirement of Certified Fresher. Being a pure fresher, I had missed and after missing my opportunities, SAP Education Partners had allowed me. What is the meaning of my struggle? Can any one of you tell me. Why they had discouraged Fresh Graduates?

When I was ready to make an investment for SAP Training in 2011 they did not allow me.

My way of searching for jobs is different, I include all my key words up to mark. I have stated clearly in my Cover letter " I am looking for direct roles of SAP FI Project" 

I had to bear my Career loss here in Bangalore.

I have sent all my missed out roles to all Education Partners like ATOS and Lithan Genovate. Now they are allowing students especially college Graduates.

If they had done this for me also in 2011 I would have settled in Robert Bosch/Deloitte/HCL/Capgemini.

I have given a flow for Fresh Graduates and Students. You can follow the same.

Contact Lithan Genovate or ATOS Bangalore Center. If you are willing to make investment for your Career in SAP.

I have made a clear route for Students and Recent Graduates. You can follow the same.

You have already taken local training that's fine. Now you can approach Atos. Lithan Genovate and SourceOne Management Services these three centers are allowing fresh graduates without any experience. After training and certification Practice in your SAP IDES Software. Do not ignore your IDES Practice. I have practiced a lot in my IDES and my IDES practice got attracted to companies and I had to miss my role. Again for 2nd time I am waiting for calls here in Bangalore.

I purely 100 % agree with your words, as companies has to allow people who has done certification as a fresher and they have to show their IDES system as they practiced on some projects in their respective areas, becoz the investment incurred for certification is some times is no getting valuable, and the companies are expecting real time  exposure for their projects with gud SAP skills, if the students practice real times scenarios they can easily get job. I appreciate the way you are doing ....ALL THE BEST PRAMILA........

Its very difficult to find out Dummy Projects. I too tried to search Dummy projects, but could not get one for myself.

Real Time Projects happens in SAP Companies on Live Server. I have just created a Configuration Solution in SAP IDES which is stepping stone for beginners especially Graduates without any experience. I have used some online resources like SCN, SDN Wiki and many more. Just start out your SAP IDES Solution - Financials & Controlling. Capture each and every screen for your step by step flow. After completing one full cycle of configuration End to End, you can mention the same in your cv/resume, linkedin & naukri.com. You can give attractive titles for your Demo Solutions. I have given this idea to attract SAP Companies.

I'm very much busy in demo project and mobility course of openSAP. Please read my blogs your confusions will be erased off within a second.

I will write some more blogs for Freshers to have better understanding of what companies expect from a beginner.

U r telling me to practice in IDES.

For IDES, whether i have to follow the the material provided by the Institution or any other source is available for configuration.

Right now, i am following the material(SAP General Ledger Configuration) provided by the sap-topjobs.com.

I dont have the material for AP, AR, Asset accounting, Controlling cofiguration.

Pls suggest.
