Hello & New to SAP

Hello

I have a very strong background in IT, and now moving to learn SAP. I have been told that "SAP basis" would be good start since it requires some IT related work. Can some please recommend a good book on SAP basis or point me in the proper direction. Any tips would be nice.

Theres plenty of good books for SAP Netweaver Adminitration on the SAP Press site.

Also you should consider some formal SAP training to cover the basics.

Coming from an IT background Basis is certainly the natural progresion
