Govind,
(3 project implementation and 6 years of CS functional experience) Strong exposure and experience in SAP. Do you know only CS or SD too? How are you positioning yourself in the market? and what do you want to learn? (any initial planning)
What type of company (consulting, product) do you want?

I was working as a business development manager with leading HVAC company .During my 13 year tenure, I had implemented SAP CS /Dealer Connect (Dealer portal) & BI/BO implementation in India . I was looking the opportunity in product line because of my last experince . But I am open to go in consulting field .
If I have to go for consulting field what kind of training is required ??

Govind,
If you are going to start in SD, then it is going to be very difficult to break into the SAP job market as a consultant. This is true in across the world. Easier choice would be to search for jobs in the area you have experience.
While working (6 years) in CS experience, why did you not get into SD?
How much of SD do you already know? Do you have a good understanding of SD business processes?

Hello
I am not new for SD Module . I have almost the equal knowledge of SD as well as CS . Because all our billing & Delivery was mapped in SD module .
As I told you about my earlier experince my responsibility was a business development & IT support . All SAP experince I got in my last Company . I know even more about SD module because it was implemented in 2002- 03 .& CS was implemented in 08-09 .
But working in After sales & service department so company has given me the responsibly of CS module . I Know the business process better then any SD SAP constant because I worked as a business Manager &process mapped in SAP .
Why I am looking for SD consultant I moved in USA last year & as per the USA market M=most of companies need USA local experince for any business development position. I am not getting any good opportunity & I did some research about the SAP market . It is not very good but what experienced I can be fit in this industry & I am hopping
So I am going for certification in next few month & going in to the market ,

Govind,
Good to know that you have work experience in SD!
When you apply now, what is the response? Would it be different simply because you have added certification to your profile?

I Have applied couple of SD profile job in USA but I haven't heard any thing on this & after getting my SD certification it will add some weightage in my profile & all of above it will going to refresh the knowledge & deep understanding of SD module.

Govind,
There have been lot of discussions, based on candidate feedback that certification does not dramatically increase job chances. So, keep this in mind while setting expectations.
How much would certification help in preparation, I don't know!! If you would talk about enrolling in a course (maybe unauthorized, online for few months) that would be something that would help you. Now it all comes down to your initiative and drive, as you are going for certification and not training.
For learning, one of the best tools are the SD forums.
