Hi All,

I am a 2010 pass out B.Tech IT candidate.

I have undergone training in SAP ABAP module.

My career started in May 2013 as a trainee in SAP MM module. Its an end user profile though I need an implementation job.

Now after 1 year of experience I am planning to go for Certification, so my queries are:

1. Which module to select SAP ABAP Certification or SAP MM certification.?

2. Is the certification beneficial at this time?

Kindly Help.

Regards

Hi Nayan,

i am not getting why you have asked this question, if you like coding and as you have taken training in abap you can take certification in abap, but if you don't like coding then you can take your foot ahead in MM module , its only you who can judge yourself better, so make your choice by your own interest rather than by asking to others.

Hello Sir,

Thank you for for your response.

The reason I asked this question is I have just completed 1 year and I am still working as an end user in SAP MM and few of my friends have advised me if I go for SAP ABAP my experience will not count & it will be a much more tough fight to get a job than compared to SAP MM.

Is that so?

Hi Nayan,

as you told that you have worked as an end user, so if you willl take a foot ahead towards SAP ABAP

or MM module your experience will not get considered, as a job profile of an end user is something different with respect to a consultant, in being a consultant you should know the life cycle of processes involved in that module. Like in MM module you must know all the steps involved in creation of PR, GR, IR etc.

But as an end user you only takes output on different situations, where you don't know about the process involve into it. When it comes to jet a job in this i think its not easy to get a job in sap either it is abap or mm module.

And onething more, don't compare yourself with your friends because your brain is tuned differently as compared to your friend's brain, so ask to yourself that in which module i.e in abap or MM you are feeling good, as you have end user knowledge in MM , so you are surely be friendly with MM, if it is so

you must take MM as a career option.

Dear Nayan,

I am completely agree with Mr. Sanjeev. Its all depends on your interest, In both MM and ABAP you have bit knowledge, so you can adopt anything based on your interest. Both the things have bright future as per current market..

HI Nayan,

SAP End user experience and consultant's experience is different. As said above, think your self on which domain you are good in ABAP /MM, then proceed.

Best of Luck.

Regards,

MK.
