Hello,

I am currently working in a company and looking to switch my field as i am not happy with it. I am looking forward to enter in SAP field but i am totally new to SAP and do not have any programming background. I Had completed my bachelors degree in Electronics and have one and half year of experience in automation field. So please guide me whether it is good idea to switch my field and enter in SAP, as it will be a kind of risk from money and career point of view for me.Please help me out.

Hi Ram,

as far as i know there is nothing in sap which will corelate with electronics so you have two options here, one is to go with sap technical stream and another is to go with sap functional side. Remember one thing that irrespective of your 1 yr.+ experience , you will be considered only as an fresher in sap , so its just a little bit challanging task for you.

As you have a little experience in other field, so you can switch towards sap world , but being frank its somewhat tough to get a job as an fresher in sap, so are you ready to struggle for that, if yes then search for different major sap modules in sap and see the process involved into it, if you find yourself in any module more friendly to you, you can make it as your career option.

If you have any query, please revert.

Hi,

Thanks Mr. Sanjiv . As you told me i am aware of the fact that i will be consider as fresher in SAP. As i am from electronics background will companies consider me for SAP job or they look for IT background peoples mainly?

Thanks

Actually, no

To become SAP fresher it is enough to have:

1). Higher education (for functional consultants better economic-oudit specialisation, for programmers - better It). But for such thing employers looking only for young people after university.

2). Have SAP functional or programming knowledge (to get it you need to learn SAP courses and customize system by yourself or go to the SAP courses in SAP centers(quite expensive)

3). For some modules like FI or CO you must has well backround in accounting

to have industry expirience or SAP sertificates it is plus but not necessary

Hi Ram,

its not mandatory to have IT background , you must have relevant degree .
