Hello,
Perhaps this question has been asked before but I would be grateful for any information.
I have 10 years experience as a front-end developer meaning expert knowledge of html, javascript, css, various frameworks like Angular, React, Knockout even OpenUI5. I have taken part into some fairly complex projects business wise but I am trying to enter the SAP ecosystem since I want the following 1) client facing roles, 2) knowledge of an established platform, 3) career advancement, 4) using latest technologies and most important although somewhat romantic 5) helping people through the platform to receive the result of an envisioned project.
Granted my background and degree is on Computer science but wouldn't SAP ABAP, SAPUI5 and SAP Fiori make me a good candidate even as a junior SAP consultant? Moreover, would it be even remotely possible to study on my own and achieve partial marketability in order to break into SAP?
Any advice would be most helpful.

Hi Antonios
It looks like you have already answered your question for you. Development skills have diversified a lot with SAP in the past few years. Having the front end experience to enter a junior SAP developer role could be quite useful
UI5, Java/javascrip, HTML5, etc are all useful. I recommend you have a search and also look at the open.sap intro courses for Fiori to get a better appreciation.
The other complimentary skill is to look into SAP's UX strategies which the UI techologies work without. SAP's goal of simplification and putting user experience first is forcing a lot of us to consider what we design.
Good luck with your skills development.
Regards
Colleen
