Error: Installation of SAP Netweaver 7.02

Hi,

After going to the define parameters tab,

the following error is popped..

       An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :System call failed. Error 21 (The device is not ready. ) in execution of system call 'GetVolumePathName' with parameter (F:\), line (187) in file (synxcfsmnt.cpp), stack trace: iaxxejsctl.cpp: 272: EJS_ControllerImpl::executeScript() d:\depot\bas\720_rel\bc_720-1_rel\gen\optu\ntamd64\ins\sapinst\impl\src\ejs\iaxxejsbas.hpp: 450: EJS_Base::dispatchFunctionCall() iaxxejsexp.cpp: 178: EJS_Installer::invokeModuleCall() synxcfsmit.cpp: 466: CSyFSMountIteratorImpl::get() synxcfsmnt.cpp: 158: CSyFSMountImpl::CSyFSMountImpl(const CSyPath& F:/) .). You can now:

• Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
• Choose Log Files to get more information about the error.
• Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/NW702/AS-ABAP/ADA/CENTRAL/.    

Someone please help asap.

Hi Sanjay,

Please provide the correct path to the installation media. I think F:/ drive - doesn't contain the required files. If yes, then point it to the specific directory.

ex: f:/sap_inst etc.

Hi Srihari,

How do i change the path, I am never asked for path to SAPinst.exe, It only asks path to Java which i gave as C:/programfiles/java/jre...

Hi Sanjay,

When you start the installation, SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System -->

the following screens, you need to provide details like SID, Instance number, path to the directories where the instllation dump is etc. After then, you will get the parameters tab which is the summary of all the inputs you have given.

So, go back and select the correct path.

the following screens appears which says EULA(End User License Agreement)

I accepted by selecting the radio button,

Then, i got screen asking for java runtime environment, on giving the path and pressing ok, the error pops up.

What do i do, where do i search the path?

Hi Sanjay,

did you copy the sapinst file to another path?

If yes, please start the original sapinst file.

Also you could check if the User which you use to run the setup, has the right privilegs to execute the mentioned files.

Hi Sanjay,

Please set the environment vairable JAVA_HOME = path to the java executables.

Before proceeding with installation, please go thru the inst guides and perform all the pre-requisite checks and then start the installation.

Hi Srihari,

Buddy, I have downloaded three different versions of java as per given requirement but as soon as i give the path "C:/program Files/Java/jre" The above error pops up. Don't know. If i continue with the installation by retry i shows f-drive size not compatible(which i never used), windows version error.

Can you take the remote access and install it in my desktop. It will be a great help.
