CRM vs. SAP Hybris

Hello everyone,

I am facing the same dilemma as other professionals face when they switch their career, "which SAP module is the best fit for me?" Let me share my background, I have MBA from USA and worked as BA by focusing on requirement gatherings, functional process designing, re-engineering and other BA required responsibilities.

I would like to be a SAP Consultant. I want to choose the right module which can serve my requirements. I explored several modules to find the right one for me like QM, MM, FICO, BI but I found none of them closer to my past BA experience. I explored SAP CRM module which seems to be closer to my past responsibilities. One of my close friends informed me that SAP CRM will be replaced by SAP Hybris by 2025, he suggested me to explore SAP Hybris. After exploring SAP Hybris I am found out that SAP Hybris is more focused on e-commerce like B2B, B2C, C2B and C2C, which brings me back to the point zero.

I am very frustrated as this will be a big "make or break" decision for me. I humbly and kindly request all of you to please advise that "Is CRM is the right choice for me based on my BA experience?" Will SAP CRM be replaced by SAP Hybris? Is there any impact on SAP CRM consultants' demands with the release of SAP Hybris?

Considering the changes in the market, choosing hybris over CRM would be a better choice, should you like to move from a business to system analyst role. Even though the old systems are still in use, and may continue to be used by some customers for a little more time, developing skills which can support businesses of future means having less competition. That's what I think and would suggest.

For which business process did you perform these tasks? Is it for production, procurement,sales, finance etc ? Accordingly, you could be suggested better.

From your post you seems to be in sales related requirement gathering as you are indicating towards CRM and Hybris

You may also consider "Sales and Distribution"

Read related documents available on internet. Take few free demo in SD or Hybris and then think further and if you can afford the certification training then you may go ahead with that too as few certified centers in India may arrange some interviews post your certification but never ever depend on them blindly just focus on learning and self searching, rest will fall in place itself
