you can never 'learn' everything - there are many aspects and facets to master related to ABAP & the Workbench.

And even if you master a few aspects to some extent - everything is always evolving and improving...

so for example, you could be an expert in sapscript, but then smartforms arrives, and then Adobe Forms....so its a continual process of adaapting and relearning or even consolidating what you have already learned.

Gaining experience of any of the SAP modules (functional aspects) is necessary for you to improve your programming skills and knowledge.

There are also some other abap/development related areas to explore for you learn that are more technical too, such as some Basis, PI/interfacing/IDOC, Webdynpro, Workflow etc You can argue these are full time skills in their own right - but having ABAP knowledge is a pre-requisite to many i.e. webdynpro and a distinct advantage.

Cheers

Hi Sireesha,

if you thinks you have got sound knowledge on abap (exceptions are everywhere, as talked by steve),

i think you have to go to learn either webdynpro, bw, or hana.

As hana developer are not as much as abap consultants are, so being in this field, would be an advantage for you.

Now the only problem you will face is, if you will take any other module, you will be considered

as a fresher outside of your present company, so i will prefer you to change your technology

as your organisation having some inputs in it, such that when you will get out of it, you can have worked on it, and can't be judge as a fresher.

Hi Sireesha,

if you have just learn, please work extensively on it, when you will get sufficient hands on in it

then you can switch to any of the module discussed above.

Best of Luck

Learning is important. One should keep on learning. In the mean time, try to get a job as ABAP developer and then learn more.Just learning modules may not work and help.If you are not keen on any module, learning that would restrict you to try and get a job in that module only.If you like ABAP developer role, try to get a job first.
