Hi Raj,

as you have done MCA, you must have get in touch with coding and if you are frequent with coding then i will suggest you to take it as a career option. The problem only with abap module is that there are so many consultants are present in market as a fresher and experienced too.

But if you are crazy about it, you can choose it, and the company in which you are presently working will provide you an exposure to work in abap module, then you must choose abap.

If you have any other queries, please revert.

Hi Raj,

Becoming a Techno Functional consultant is a good Idea. If you are flexible to write the code then ABAP is good, as well as with the ABAP having knowledge on Business Workflow is also good.

Welcome to ABAP World

I would recomend for you to work as SD consultant around couple of years with minimum one implemented project and after that start to learn abap or other module(like mm-pp-wm or even crm)

Raj,

When asking for advice, always provide enough information so that SCN members can provide good suggestions. And please remember we can only provide "good" suggestions, not "correct" suggestions, since we don't know nothing about you and your skills and your interests.

It is a good idea to be Techno-Functional, but not until you have a good 7-8 years of SD experience under your belt. When you have that kind of Consulting experience, the dual handling of SD and ABAP becomes a cake-walk. As an SD consultant you exactly what gaps you need to fill and replicate the same as an ABAPer - i.e if your organization recognizes you in that dual role. Even if you dont get the chance to get your hands dirty with ABAP, you could at least put all the technical information you know if the Functional Specifications and make sure the ABAPer derives the desired output/fill the gaps.
