Hi Everyone,

My name is Mysty and I'm a Certified SAP SD consultant living in Northern Virginia, USA. I have been looking out for job's for quite some time now.

Let me give you a small background on my education qualifications and work experience.

Education qualifications:

MBA HR and Marketing Graduate, Anna University India (Graduated on 2010)

Bachelor Of Business Management, Bharathiar University India (Graduated on 2008)

Certified SAP SD Consultant (Bangalore, India 2014) (No work experience on SAP.)

Work Experience :

Order Management Specialist at Thomson Reuters Bangalore, India (2010 to 2012)

I returned to US on June 2015 and have been searching for Entry Level or Internship job's ever since, my wait doesn't seem to end.

Here in US to get an internship you should be undergoing your Graduate Studies, so I don't have a chance there.

And for Mid-Level SAP job's, I don't have any experience on this field. And most of them require citizenship and I am GC holder.

And the most sad part is I couldn't find any Entry Level SAP SD job's here in Washington DC, Virginia or Maryland.

I can't move to other state's apart from the above mentioned because of my little one.

I really want need to start my career, before its too late.

I'm here for help, if there is anyone willing to help me find I job. I will be eternally grateful to them.

Thank You for your time.

Warm Regards,

Mysty.

Mysty,

Try for administrative job in a company that uses SAP. From there, try to transition to doing SAP end user activities for example creating orders, invoices etc. Do that for 2 years and then maybe you can try to breaking into SAP as a junior SD consultant in a consulting company or a junior analyst in a product company.

Hi TW,

As per your advise, I have started to apply for Admin Job's in Companies that use SAP. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and waiting to hear from them. I wish there was some kind of internship programs for Certified SAP consultants who do not have any job experience, or at least I wish they had Job Fairs conducted by SAP in all major locations.

Thank You so much for your response, this gives me hope.

Most of my US friends move around with their jobs.  Try to sacrifice wage for a while, do some freelance and maybe contact an external consulting company too for an entry job.  I did this for my first job, they paid me 80% for 3 months!!

Hope it helps

Hello Waza,

Thank You for the Freelance idea, I'll give it a try. And yes I've already got in touch with external consulting company, they said SAP SD Market is now slow and entry level job's are very rare.

Well I'm not going to give up, I'll fight until I get SAP SD job

Thanks again Waza.

Further, review best practices and cover as many SD functions as possible.  Then use this ability in any of your interviews.

Think about:-

  • pricing procedures
  • VOFM routines
  • rebates
  • Sales BOM
  • VC
  • Cross Company Sales

And then you will be flying!!

Hope it helps

Mysty,

I would add to Waza's list

  • Credit management
  • Interfaces
  • Output
