Hi,

I currently work for Coca Cola Enterprises in the Distribution Department as a Operations Coordinator  for 12 yrs. I want to start a career in SAP Functional . The looked up which modules would suit my career path considering my work experience, SAP SD and SAP MM seemed to be the ones.

I am abit  confused which module to train on because they both cover bits of my role.

Please advise.

Thanks

Peter,

Were you more involved in the procurement or the sales processes, of logistics?

Another way to look at it is that you can learn any module, doesnot make a difference. The most important thing is the business process knowledge which, as it seems, you have.

In Coca cola, which documents were you working with PGR or PGI or shipments or.....? This could also be a factor which will help you to select the module. But both are same and it does not matter in the long run.

Hi TW,

Thanks for the advise

I think sales process of Logistics. some of my roles are  copacking, repacking, IDOC processing , PGR, PGI , Shipments, creating batches , deleting and creating HU's, IBT management, Materials movements finished goods, stock traceability, Held stock, display stock and substitute.

Currently, we are in the  Interim Stage of SAP for 1 year using ECC and in 6 months the company expects to implement the SAP End State with EWM which will include creating waves or releasing loads.currently we are using Locator system to pick loads  which will have to go.

The main reason why i want to take up the training and take the SAP Exam is because i want to increase my chances of being   one of the people chosen to be part of  the implement of SAP End State in 6 months.  There will be  in-house training as  SME from SAP Consultants.  In other words am trying to be ahead of the game. Once am done with the training then i can present them to my company.

What do you think of my plan? if its a good one, which module will best suit me to train?

Thanks,

Peter

Peter,

It seems that you have a clear plan and you are targeting specific opportunities. This being said, then you need to evaluate what knowledge / module will be best suited, so that you are selected by your company for this implementation/project.

It is a great opportunity and wish you good luck!
