Dear All,
I am having nearly four years of experience in Plant maintenance as a maintenance engineer.
Now I want to switch over to SAP in Plant Maintenance Module.
Can I get into SAP with only by my domain experience in maintenance or Is certification really necessary ?
Please guide me.
Best Regards
Keerthan Kumar

Yes you can switch over to SAP with your domain experience..
But the experience will not counted in SAP relevant experience.
But although it will add into your domain experience.
PM is a very good module.
About the certification, you can do or not..
If you do the certification, then your SAP knowledge and change will be weighty.
Just learn SAP PM module as a best learner.
Best of LUCK

Hi Keerthan,
Adding to Dev inputs,
Go ahead and learn SAP if you are really interested as you have rich functional experience.
Regarding certification, It is not necessary. Certification provides added advantage to your profile.
But certification does not guarantee you a job.
Explore SAP. Happy Learning...!!! Good luck.
Please read the below link posted by Chirag.
All the best.

Hi Keerthan
Happy New Year!!!!!!
Before going for SAP Certification you must research in market about certification. I want to share something.
1. SAP certification has itself no value in market. Now, most candidates complete their SAP certification and they have domain experience but no job in market.
2. No company, ask you about your certification. They ask about your practical knowledge.
3. No company offer you a job on the basis of your certification knowledge.
4. If you plan for SAP certification, as per my knowledge ask the institute first offer letter. Otherwise you may suffer.
5. If you have good knowledge you will get the good job. Not by the certification.
All The Best.
