Career in SAP after certification of SAP ISU

I have completed certification of SAP ISU.I am working with oil and gas sector in SAP FICA module since 8 yrs. as a domain user but after completed my certification in SAP ISU in october 2015 , i want to make my career as SAP FICA function consultant. Should I go with this?

I started searching for jobs for sap fica function consultant but every company wants Minimum 2 end to end implementations,as i am a domain user in oil and gas company i have not that experience. how could i able to change my job from user to function consultant?

Hi Aman

The best way I could think of is to talk to your present employer and check if you can get into the team which is managing your  SAP. Since you have just completed, the certification, it will be difficult though not impossible to get a job outside. I would suggest to work on strategy on how to get into such a team for at least 2-3 years. Convince your existing manager as to how a rich business knowledge of 8 years which you have will be best utilized if you get into SAP Team and work on improvising your existing system itself. This will give you good 3-4 years of exp in a real world project. In parallel work on gaining knowledge through learning hub, SCN which are some of the best places to enhance knowledge. Thereafter in 2-3 years, you can look for a change.
