hi indhuja,
SAP HR is a separate module and no need to mix it up with ABAP, people with experience in ABAP(technical) choose different combination's of functional modules like ABAP+HR to improve their opportunities in real world. it's good in career growth but not Compulsory.check in this forum about Techno- functional consultants or SAp ABAP with XXX you get a good idea

Maybe you would like to look for some videos (like on YouTube) where people show SAP HR or describe how things work withing SAP HR module or simulations (sim files) which something like videos.
This might be useful to do before you start any education. You can get feeling for the system, see some screenshots, get some concepts... You cannot have SAP trial with HR module, but you may be also interested in SAP trial to get some (quick) hands on experience with the SAP system. The installation is not difficult.

Hi,
You have a domain experience in HR. It would be helpful for you How to map the business process in SAP. If you worked on Payroll, easy to under stand the statutory reports (forms) also.
All the Best.
