Hi SAP Professionals,
I want to embark on a functional SAP career but not sure which is more suitable for me.
My skills: PMP certification, SAP BI & BI-IP, SAP Basis. Some customer service level knowledge of online sales business process.
As can be seen, most of skills are technical with exception of PMP .
Is a career in Project system a choice to make? I am not sure how popular this module is. Where is the market? Which country?
Is my PMP complementary for a career in project system?
How much FI knowledge or SD knowledge is required for PS?
What qualifications is ideal for being a SD consultant?
How does SD compare with Logistics/supply chain module? which is more suitable for me?
Is Abap still the programming language for SAP ERP? Is it possible to be Abap-free as a functional consuiltant?
Would really appreciate your kind advice.
Thanks in advance!
John

Depends on your skill and how much exprience you have. If you know subject the sure you will get job.

Not much as both are different functional modules, if you have then better.

Don't think there is a benchmark for any functional module that you have specific qualification. But suggest you must have some domain knowledge and some exprience in same field.

Depends which area of module you like and interested for your. This choice you have take.

Thanks a lot to Sunil for sharing your knowledge and giving advice!
I like to close this thread by finding out / clarifying the following:
">>Is Abap still the programming language for SAP ERP? Is it possible to be Abap-free as a functional consultant?
Yes, ABAP is still programming language for SAP. You can be Tech-functional consultant."
]]] Can i say that to be functional consultant I need not do Abap? I have done minor programming but its just not my cup of tea.
">>How does SD compare with Logistics/supply chain module? which is more suitable for me?
Depends which area of module you like and interested for your. This choice you have take."
]]] I have done some reporting on SD cubes and has worked for a short while as online sales customer service representative and so knows something about its business process like what situations can goods be returned , when order confirmation is issued etc.
Does this mean SD is the way to go for me?
I really hope Logistics consultants can tell me more about logistics and is it better to take the Logistics / Supply chain route or to start with SD?
Which has more market demand , or has more installations, by the way?
thanks !!!
Sincerely
John

Knowing few things will not make you a good SAP consultant.
You have to spend lots of time reading the functional process and try to get practical knowledge if possible. until you have some practical / hands-on its difficult you to know all about any SAP fictional module.
You can do practice on http://www.consolut.com/en/s/sap-ides-access/discover-sap-ides.html if you have internet connection.
SAP has demand in market for all the modules but depends how much you know the process and you have experience.
