I'm 36 I don't have a University degree, I've got 15 years of sales experience and for the last 2 years worked in IT recruitment where I first heard of SAP.
I'd like to become a SAP consultant but finding it hard to find the best way to do that. I've seen Maters Degree in SAP (or that encompass SAP among other subjects), internships offered by private companies where half the reviews are good and half are bad, training courses, ect.
I'm really just looking for some advice and to be pointed in the right direction or best course of action because apart from doing SD module, I'm very lost.
Many thanks for any help

Age doesn't matter when it comes to learning !!!
As long as you are willing to put hard work to learn SAP SD, it is not something that cannot be achieved. When you say you have domain experience of 15 years in sales and two years in IT, not sure, whether you worked as an end user in IT.
To start with, you can explore these documentations
Most importantly, you also need to take into consideration, once you complete your basic level training, you will be treated as a junior resource and accordingly your perks would also be in line with that and obviously, it may be very low when compared to your current salary. So, you need to decide whether to compromise on this part and enhance your skill to reach top of the ladder.

I don't have any IT training, I'm very computer literate but no training or work experience in it. Was just a recruitment consultant so no end user experience either. So would you recommend going straight for a certificate through SAP instead of all the Masters or private companies that offer training?
And yes, I'm fine starting as a junior after I've done this and work my way up, just tired of the sales industry

SAP will definitely add value to the career. Most of the MNC's use SAP for SD. As you have experience in the particular domain it will be fruitful for you to grasp the working concepts in SAP SD. All the best if you are planning to get into SAP. Its just a start and the tip of the Ice berg. Welcome to SAP.
