Career change to SAP ABAP.

Hi,

I wanted to make a change in my career to SAP ABAP.Currently i work as a Sharepoint admin and have 5 years of experience in it.Is.it a right decision to make a career change to SAP?

Hi,

SAP is a giant Software, you can move in to ABAP but don't try to do ABAP only, you have to become SAP Full stack developer. Changing path is doesn't matter important is how you committed and fulfill your requirement.

I was thinking to gain experience in ABAP first and then learn HANA.Is it right?

It will be ABAP > HANA and FIORI or you can start from FIori development , Then look at other stuff like PI/PO ,Cloud Development ect..

Hi Ann,

I would recommend you to move into some other functional side, because any how SAP is minimizing the efforts for custom enhancements, so it would be great if you go for something else!

Ann, take into account that

on HANA platform you cannot write ABAP code

I think some people confuse S4Hana, AMDP. CDS etc. with "HANA".
