Dear all,

I have been working with SAP for 5 years now at the same costumer goods company.  We currently have ecc sd,mm,FI,co, APO , CRM TPM, BPC and BW.  I work in IT.  In our current environment we are not able to do any customizing.  This is is all done by central IT in Europe. My position is more of a business analyst and liaison between local and central IT.  I need on some advice on my next steps in my career.  Should I go for cents and if so what modules would be most beneficial?  Also what should be my next steps in a career path.  I belive my current position will remain stagnant with not much growth opportunity.

Thanks

Jon

Hi Jon,

I think time for you to join the consulting and IT organization which are always hunting for experience candidate like you.  Over the years you have the domain knowledge of manufacturing industry along with the SAP experience.

You can opt for a job in the same area of SAP with these global organization.  You also have experience in working with your team from Europe and have the experience on analyzing the business needs and give solution accordingly.

Also, focus on one module such as SD and then focus on CRM.  Please do not jump on all the modules at the same time.  It will affect the quality of learning and in turn your consulting skills.

Hope this will be useful

Thanks and Regards

Hi Jonathan,

Since you have been working in IT for 5 years and you understand the requirement coming from business and you are working with Security team to get it done then you have a sound understanding of business and security. If you are interested in taking up SAP security then you should get some training on SAP security and after that you can move up learning SAP GRC. If you are not interested in security then check which domain matches your SAP and business knowledge and experience then take a decision.

If you have any questions then let me know.

Good Luck.
