Hi everyone.
I recently graduated in Management Engineering and am just about to launch my career.
I had an offer from a consulting company that works with SAP BPC and only it. The position is good, but I'm not entirely convinced about specializing that much in one single application from the very start of my career.
The alternative would be working in a consulting company that works with several Oracle Hyperion applications, although I would have to relocate from Europe to the USA.
I know there are some other aspects to consider about the two positions, but concerning only this one (the range of applications I would be introduced to), what would you do?
Do you think SAP BPC has a strong future ahead of him, which could justify the choice of specializing in it?
Thank you guys.
Cheers
Federico

Hi,
I would go with the SAP option (as would you expect on this forum! :-).
You might start out working on SAP BPC, but the wonderful thing about SAP is the huge number of applications and technologies in this SAP mini-universe. You will find yourself gravitating towards the application that best fits your skills and interests.
Even if your company specialises in SAP BPC alone, working with your clients will present you with a world of SAP opportunities.
In ten years, I've drifted from ABAP to HR to IDocs to workflow to CRM to TRM to .. who knows.
It's never dull, and always very rewarding.
cheers
