Can someone who is above 40 years of age join in ABAP as a fresher?
Plus he has no Engineering background but has done lots of computer courses & hence fair idea of programming.
He has also undergone ABAP training course privately as he dont have the money to do global certification.
Plus he regularly practices in IDES using all the latest SAP Press books on ABAP topics.
He has also worked as a SD support consultant in a renowned US marketing research company for 9 months.

transition always difficult not just this case. that if you have experience ABAP leader who can review him is better than evaluation from your position.

Would recommend to start as some other latest technologies of SAP like cloud HANA OR UI5.
ABAP Is too old to start by the time you gets enough hands on this technology will evaporate;

Hello sas vas,
Do you mean ABAP will not be there in near future?!!? I don't believe that. Many experts have said earlier in this forum that ABAP is there to stay.
HANA / UI5 may come but still ABAP will be there!!
Else why hasn't the SAP authorized training centers has stopped teaching ABAP to new candidates?

Further @ sas vas ,
This is a serious forum. So please be serious & don't try to mislead others.

If what you say were true, then why would SAP be investing in the language, adding new features?

Can someone who is above 40 years of age join in ABAP as a fresher?
In short, the answer is YES but if you are also looking into financial aspect, then, you need to take one step back and rethink whether this decision is wise. Though you would be having lot of domain experience in various fields, entering into SAP world as a fresher would mean, your salary package would be very low

Hi
Three things you will control everyday. your ATTITUDE, your EFFORT and your ACTIONS. It doesn't matter what others are doing or who you think is being unfair, everyday you can focus on being positive,working hard and making other around you better. Look at new things take challenges and action on it. otherwise you will be fail.
