BW and MDM, are they a good match?

what do you think aobut matchin up these two fields? i'm a 4 years BI consultan, would it be ok for me to get deeper in MDM without any ABAP knowledge?

From my point of view MDM is little like PI (about getting systems together, exchanging information) or like BO "whatisthenameoftheapp" maybe integrator? If I were you I would go for BO, MDM is something different (in my opinion).

Thank you Otto, I thought of MDM more like cleansed and consolidated master data for BW.

SAP BI and MDM or not as distinct as they seem, and they are already used in several scenarios.

As you said, MDM can be used for data transformation/cleansing/checking.

And if you look at the job postings, I can already see the double copetency coming

I did some research about the topic and must admit you´re probably right. The value in using BW together with MDM is high. I have one last comment: I have heard that the MDM is not an IT tool so much, that the users shoudl care about their data, that is is very important that the owners of the data take care about it, instead of some it crowd.
