Hi Gurus,

I know this is a forum of SAP , and I am asking something which is not relevant, but Please give me

your valuable suggestions :

I want to know which certification will be good for me for my carrier:

Presently I am into SAP ABAP , also I did Certification in that.

Now I want to move towards techno-functional area.

So Which certification will help me in reaching that carrier goal.

SAP-MM

OR

APICS-CPIM

Waiting for your valuable suggestions.

Thanks

I have both a certification in SAP and APICS (CPIM). Both of these certifications have helped me in my career so far. What is important to understand is how these will look from a hiring standpoint.

If you already have a SAP ABAP certification and have a strong background in SAP, you may want to diversify and show that you have interests in business as well.

A hiring manager will look at your credentials and try to pin you down as one specific thing. If you want to be viewed as a pure specialist in SAP, then I would strongly reccomend the MM certification.

However, if you want to be looked at as more business-oriented, and not simply as an "IT-ONLY" kinda person, then I would recommend getting the APICS certification.

Of course, the APICS certification is cheap and you can study on your own time and then take the test whenever you please. The SAP certification may cost thousands of dollars depending on what your situation is. However, because one is much easier to get than the other (APICS). I would recommend getting the APICS certification first and then from there deciding whether or not you want to continue on and get the SAP certification.

My recommendation would be to get BOTH certifications because they will both help you in very big ways. A true business analyst is someone who is well-versed in both the IT and the operational aspects of the business.

I hope this helped!
