After ABAP..

Hello experts!

I have an experience of one year in ABAP with one end to end implementation and a support project experience with me.

I wish to pursue something more advanced based on Netweaver Platform or perhaps a functional module.

I have done all the basic ABAP(Reports, Dialog programming, BDCs, Smartforms) but I dont have any knowledge of other languages like Java or .NET except 'C'.

My basic qualification is "BE-- Electronics and Telecommunication"

My options are Netweaver- BI, EP, XI

or ABAP-HR.

I am more inclined towards BI, but wanted to know if I should have a lot of experience for that.

XI and EP --> Do I need to learn other languages or concepts that are very much into technical stuff i have never used in ABAP?

HR--> I have a little knowledge of HR but no knowledge of ABAP-HR syntaxes.

Also I had once seen SAP RFID as a feasible option as I have a good knowledge of RFIDs.

Please do suggest if there is anything other than this that would best suit my qualifications and interests as well.

Please help!

Warm Regards and thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Sumit Nene.

In my opinion one year of ABAP is too small a time to start looking at other areas. I suggest you to make you ABAP base a lot more stronger before looking at other domains. Moreover it doesnt reflect well on your Resume - the frequent hopping around. Any interviewer would assume that you would not have a command in any of the modules, since you just hopping around without much experience.

Just my opinion.

Hi Abap expert,

If you have mastered all Abap programming skills in one single year then you must be a genius.

"(Reports, Dialog programming, BDCs, Smartforms)" is a very small part of Abap skills and mostly old techniques...

@ olivier

please dont misunderstand me but i havent mentioned anywhere that I have mastered all the ABAP in an year. Yes reports and dialog programming are a very small part of ABAP and that is what i have worked on. I dont have a second opinion on this.

All I wanted was a direction..

Perhaps I should work only in ABAP for now and not think of doing anything more.

Warm Regards,

Hi,

To look beyond ABAP you have SAP XI to do or you can even become an technofunctinal like ABAPHR/ABAPMM etc but that you can do it only once you have atlest 2 to 3 full project experiences.

So i would suggest you to have very strong ABAP exp. and then take a step towards upgrading your knowledge.
