Hi Samanta
Now a days ABAP consultants have best opportunities in SAP Technology. If you are technically good at RICEF, its better to go for Object oriented ABAP and WEBDYNPRO- web application user interface technology. It has excellent demand upcoming development/implementation projects, In current situation SAP market seeking for Webdynpro developers. So my opinion is, if you are interested to learn beyond Basic ABAP it is better to learn OO ABAP & WEBDYNPRO. All the best for your bright future....!

Hi Pratip,
I can say that you are so lucky started SAP with ABAP. It's just begging .The blogs, sites may advice something , but whoever started career with ABAP , they never turned back or thought about some other technology.
Recommendation : Work for couple of years in ABAP and try to understand the integration of different modules across the product and analyse the advantages of having each field and transaction code and think or imagine at end user benefits perspective.
Advice: Try to explore the things more technically , i am sure you will come to know so many things and please do not conclude that RICEF is all over.
Cheers,

Hello Pratip,
If you have been browsing through the recent requirements in the job market for an ABAP consultant, I'm sure by now you must have figured out that having mere ABAP skills will not get you to the place you want to be!!
However said that, with ABAP, there are couple of modules which can give you an edge to kickstart your career.
Below are the modules/technologies in SAP which you can learn to move ahead & grab a job:
>> ABAP + OOPs + WebDynpro.
>> ABAP + Workflow.
>> ABAP + ABAP CRM/WebUI.
>> ABAP + XI.
>> ABAP + BI.
>> ABAP + APO ABAP.
I'm sure if you can learn any one or to benefit more, more than one combination as mentioned above, you sure bet a better chnace than your counterparts to grab an opportunity.
If you know ABAP, you can very well learn the above ones too.
Hope this gives you some clarity & direction!

Hello Pratip,
I recommend you focus on a business module. The client talks in business terms and it would help if you have a fair understanding of business cycle. Sales and Distribution (SD) would be a good module to start with.
Thanks,
