Hi,

I am working with one of the big four firms as a consultant in the advisory role. I have around 2 years of experience as a Business Development Manager and 2 years as consultant. I want to make a career switch to SAP CRM and I am very keen about it.

Please guide me on the following points:

1. Is SAP CRM the right module for me? Which other functional module can provide me with better opportunities.?

2. How should I go about the training part and the job search part.

3. How can I get practice in SAP CRM and are there any server logins available online?

4. In which kind of companies can I look for a job in SAP CRM in India.

5. I am positioned in Delhi, what are the avenues for SAP here in NCR.

Thanks in advance to all my seniors in SAP domain,

Cheers,

Narayan

Hi Narayan,

Welcome to SCN. My first advice to you is to have a proper display name. Secondly, please search before posting. Most of the beginner career-related queries are already answered in some form or the other. Of course I understand that everybody's career is distinct but then the questions asked by you are generic. Here are my responses to your queries:

1. Is SAP CRM the right module for me? Which other functional module can provide me with better opportunities.?

Response: Since you have not mentioned what your educational background is and in what domain you were a "Consultant" and in what areas you are interested in, my answer is "I Dont Know"

2. How should I go about the training part and the job search part.

Response: If I were in your shoes, I would do a little bit of "asking-around" with friends and relatives in my city as to which training centers offer good training and guidance and get trained. Then I post my Resume in all the job portals and read newspapers to look for Walk-in Interviews. I would also go to the websites of all the prominent IT Consulting companies and create a profile there. I also get in touch with all my friends who work in IT companies and ask them to keep an eye for "Referrals" and "Walk-ins".

3. How can I get practice in SAP CRM and are there any server logins available online?

Response: The training institutes usually give you access to their servers either remotely or in their "labs", for the duration of the course and an additional 5-6 months.

4. In which kind of companies can I look for a job in SAP CRM in India.

Response: Most consulting companies have a pool of CRM resource. You can find out such information either through their websites or through friends working there or through the kind of requirements they post.

5. I am positioned in Delhi, what are the avenues for SAP here in NCR.

Response: I've never been to Delhi, but I know for a fact that there are enough opportunities in SAP there for the simple reason that there are a lot of IT Consulting companies.
