Hi 890140

Most of the big organizations use SAP as a core system of records. I would suggest to get into your job for Accounts Payable and continue your learning for SAP FICO in parallel. Having a domain exp in accounting along with learning in FICO will have a better chance of getting a job. Off course, there is a down side, that you have to start afresh when you move into consulting for SAP FICO. However, bigger organizations do allow cross department movement of people and it is best that you get into an organization which allows this type of movement and you also continue learning SAP FICO along with domain skills.

Thanks & Regards

Hi 890140

If you join a functional AP Position and take a course in SAP FICO outside of your work time and there after take a full time position after 2-3 years, at least in India, you will be considered as a fresher despite your domain exp.

This is where i suggested to look for an organization where such internal movement from Business Operations to IT Consulting is possible. It would be easier to move in such an organization.

Thanks & Regards
