Hi there

I have about 1 year experience in .net/ c# and solid basics of OOPs. I am eager to learn abap and have finished the 21 days abap book by ken greenwood. I also got the Sams teach yourself overview of sap as a whole. I havnt studied completely but will do soon.

The abap book which i studied is somehow outdated and what should i do next ??? Any book recomendations or anything from your experience please do share with me. How to start abap OOP etc.

Will be very kind of you guys if anyone could help me out in this.

Kind regards

You can download and install PC-based versions of NetWeaver...search this site.  Ken taught my 1999 ABAP Academy class and once told me that his book was the first two weeks of ABAP academy for 4.6x.  So, yes, very seriously out of date....

For excellent tutorials, look at offerings on SAP Press written by SAP Labs gurus Thomas Jung and/or Rich Heilmann...such as  Next Generation ABAP Development (2nd Edition) or perhaps the manual: ABAP Basics (2nd Edition) or  http://www.sap-press.com/products/ABAP-Basics-%282nd-Edition%29.htmlABAP Objects: Application Development from Scratch

HI David thanks for your reply mate, yes i have installed latest sap Netweaver 7.2(I think) and using it from last one month or so. Thanks for the books recommendations as well.

I think I will start from ABAP basics followed by ABAP objects:Application development from scratch and then Next Generation ABAP Development (2nd Edition).

One little question how to check which data types were converted during execution behind the scene in a small procedural program. Actually I am doing a bit type conversions and comparison kind of things so yeah will be great if you could mention the tool or transaction code.
