5years of fake experience being Honest!

Hello Everyone!

I am a Software QA analyst with 2+ years of valid/real experience. I met a person who does SAP placement & told me you can do a SAP HR training and we will place you at $90/hr. We will help you build resume & prepare for interviews. Anyways I got so excited and as I am already underpaid so I went for this training. The training ended and I am well versed in PA & OM with good knowledge of Payroll, Time Management & Benefits.

The recruiters did put 5 years of fake experience which I was not comfortable with. I started getting other recruiters & vendor calls. A job that goes for $120/hr with so many recruiters in between I got a rate of $77. I was not comfortable with all this lying so I decided to tell the recruiter that I won't be going with this fake experience thing. He told me & it turns out to be the reality that majority of the people working in this field have put fake experience in order to work here. Its very sad to see this. Now everyone is getting trained & they are so comfortable in lying that they did get jobs at awesome rates.

I cannot do this and hence I need help. Please I had put $1500 of my hard earned money in this training. I do not earn that much & I support my parents & my wife.

Can anyone really help me please. I am willing to even leave Houston, TX for a job in SAP.

Thanks everyone

Syed Rizvi

Hello Ravi Sir,

Thanks for sharing such a beautiful blog and I'm very glad to read this blog. While reading this blog I remembered my past. After graduation in B.com I got my first job and I did some R&D to know about in career in SAP. I heard some successful stories and I asked some of them is this my education & work experience background would be suitable for it, they said of-course it, after 1 year I borrowed 50k and invested in SAP FICO module in a consultancy not for certification. While continuing training I resigned my job due to personal problem through. Then, I updated my CV with SAP FICO fresher. But, I didn't receive any job opportunity because I have zero experience in SAP. Even though I received one email from recruiter and they mentioned in mail, I have to spend 2-3 hours per day to get SAP Project proficiency. Once I finish project experience, these Firms will provides all HR Documents (Offer Letter, Appointment Letter, Pay slip, Relieving Letter, ID Cards, etc.,) with one end to project experience certificate. And they will assist in placement also. But for this project experience, they will charge economically as they are providing confidential documents to get genuine project experience.

Please, suggest me what should I have to do now because its 5th month continuing still I'm job less and now situation at home financial condition becoming bad and I'm thinking to re-join my job.

Thanks & Regards,

Sagar

Hello Sagar,

You must aware of these cheating people. This is NOT the way to get the project experience. The documents / letters given by them are NOT at all useful, they are fake documents in order to misguide you and prospective employers. You should never encourage such people.

Re-joining your job would not be a bad option either. You may choose to rejoin your previous employer if they are still willing to take you.

All the best.

Kind Regards,

Ravi

Hi Syed,

Faking your resume is not right and you did the right thing on informing your potential client and recruiters.  I think the next step is to continue finding and at the same time practice your SAP Skills by helping others in SDN on your subject of interest. Obviously, you need to balance your time between work, sdn and family.  If you are in need of a SAP IDES System, you could look at http://www.consolut.com/en/s/sap-ides-access.html

I understand you are a Software QA Analyst but not sure in which domain.  As SAP professionals, one area we looked at is business domain knowledge.  Since you are trained in PA and OM and with your 2 years of experience as Software QA (Presumably in the HR domain), you might want to emphasize your domain knowledge and newly acquired SAP technical skills in your CV.

In my opinion, no training and experience will go down the drain.  Your 2 years of experience and years of academically experience will play important role in your next job.

Good luck with your future endeavors on SAP.

Thanks

Hey Leonard

Thank you for the positive response. I practice & now learning ABAP. The reason I am learning ABAP is that I always had an interest in programming. Currently I am using nunit with selenium for my Software Automation.

The consolut website is free & I am on it for quite some time now. One has to get password everyday. Do SAP not hire for entry level positions?

Hi Syed,

I cannot speak on behalf of SAP AG.  I do believe that they hire entry level grads from time to time.  Like right now, I can see that they are recruiting for Sales and Presales Consultant.  I am not sure if you want to focus on functional or technical.  If you are not restricted to functional, my suggestion would be driving straight into the latest technology like Hana, Mobile Flori where SAP is better with providing training materials with the community as they need better adoption.  Going towards these new technologies is also less competitive with the more mature area like ABAP or Functional area where you have to compete with people over 10 years of experience.

Thanks

Leonard

Thank You Leonard!

What will you suggest to get trained on SAP HANA or SAP BO?

SAP BO is not new and there are already many consultants out there. You can learn SAP Hana if you like predictive analytics and R language.  Personally, I would pick Mobility.

I already have passed the openSAP course of Mobile Application Development. I have the certificate. When you say Mobility? what do you  mean?

Yes. I mean Mobile Application Development but more specifically Enterprise Mobile App.

Hi Leonard,

Your valuable insight in connection to this discussion of Syed is very useful for me.

I have just started taking SAP FICO training from a small institution. They aare not SAP authorized center, but my idea is to acquire the knowledge and try finding myself a job in any company which give opportunities to SAP freshers.

I do have 8 years of experience in BPO/KPO domain which falls under the category of ITES industry.

As I am from commerce background, I chose FI and CO.

Please share share some best practices to acquire a good knowledge on SAP. I don't know much about SAP IDES System. But, if you can advise how to make best use of it, it would be great.

Hello Sagar! Thanks for the response!

But 90% of the people are getting jobs like this. Its not like nobody is trying to stop this faking experience thing in this field. Why isn't there any crackdown on these recruiters who tell you yourself to fake your experience? Its very hard to earn in such economy.
