‘Shining’ with SAP HANA
When we talk about SAP HANA, our customers and developers look for comprehensive demo content with design time objects and documentation in one place. Even though there is already a lot of useful information available out there, the community needs a single repository that makes it easy for them to learn how to build applications.
Something which is more than just HelloWorld and close to a real business scenario.
SHINE is the answer for them!!
SAP HANA Interactive Native Education, or SHINE, is a demo application that enables the developers on how to build native SAP HANA applications. The demo application, delivered as a special delivery unit (DU), is complete with sample data and design-time developer objects for the application's database tables, data views, stored procedures, OData, and user interface.
The SHINE DU (Delivery Unit) is available to the customers & partners via Service marketplace as well as SAP store and the content is being used in various workshops, training and SAP HANA Academy online courses. So, not just the external audience, but also the internal developers and consultants are getting benefited from this exhaustive demo content on how to get started with SAP HANA and build your own HANA XS based applications.
The first version of SHINE which was made available outside was with HANA SP06, and followed by SP07 enhanced version demonstrating HANA SP07 features like SAP HANA UI Integration services, rules on HANA, Core data services(CDS) and so on.
And now the next version is SP08 which would be out by May end having scenarios based on HANA SPATIAL, google like search, FIORI launchpad...
And that’s not end of the story, SHINE will keep evolving with more and more new features of HANA as and when they are available for customers & internal developers !!
