Caritas is a non-profit support organization that at least for our region focuses on helping kids with social problems. So we contacted them and discussed how our team of 4 could help them, be it painting buildings, yard work, or whatever. Since we are experienced IT crowd type dudes, and Caritas was in the planning stage of migrating from Win XP and an ancient version of MS Office to Win 7 and Office 2010, they asked for computer training. Their computer knowledge was very divers, from struggling to use email and word, to semi-advanced users. So we worked with them to create 2 training sessions plans. Then created the training material, to include “Lab exercises” for each part of the training. One targeted as an introduction & Tips and Tricks to Win 7 and Office 2010, to a “Power Users” course, up to even using Excel vlookup! In addition we used our contacts with Microsoft and hardware vendors to help them reduce upgrade costs for non-profit organizations.
