Humans of SAPsv
Employees Tell Their Story

Perhaps you've heard of Humans of New York (HONY), the five-year-old vibrant photograph-blog-turned-#1-New-York-Times-best-selling-book run by a man named Brandon that provides a worldwide audience with daily glimpses into the lives of the people in New York City. Inspired by HONY, we decided to do our own spinoff and call it Humans of SAPsv. Each week, through the end of December, we'll feature three employees complete with their picture, name, title, Twitter handle, and snippets of their passion for SAP, their commitment to their colleagues and community, and what inspires them both inside and outside of SAP.

If you're interested in the chance to be featured in Humans of SAPsv, please email Magen Petit. Enjoy learning more about your colleagues and share your comments below!

What are you passionate about at SAP?
We live in a world where resources (food, water, gas, and land) are limited. This trend (resource scarcity) will continue to pose a challenge and inhibit business growth. In order to secure a prospering future, businesses need to become “smart” and “sustainable,” which means minimize waste and resource optimization. I don’t think there is any company other than SAP, which has technology, business knowledge, and customer’s trust to take these challenges head-on. “Helping business improve every day in whatever they are best at,” is what I’m most passionate about.

What’s your favorite thing about working at SAP?
When you realize, your work is helping end modern slavery, empowering manufacturers to redefine production process, improving lives by helping alleviate the cancer care, assisting your customer in its mission to help farm owners maximizing the yield, enabling the world’s best motorcycle manufacturer to run a smart factory, you just have to love everything about SAP!

If you could have one super power, what would it be?
I
believe education is the best liberator. My choice for super power, would be “1: N Telepathy,” so that I could teach thousands of kids, who don’t have access to basic infrastructure, in one go.

What’s something not many people would know about you?
As a millennial, I started a new-steel business at the age of 18 and ran it for three years. As a global citizen, I’ve lived and worked across Asia, Europe, and America.

What are you passionate about at SAP?
A place that is full of innovation and creative ideas with a culture that always shows vision, passion, and balance of life and wonderful co-workers who stimulates my brainpower. On top of that, SAP has a business model that is very sustainable.

What’s the best SAP program you’ve been involved in?
When Klaus Utech was leading NetWeaver, we had a team effort event where all the SVPs broke off into different groups to discuss corporate strategy and innovation ideas. We were very open and honest about our innovation and whether or not we would buy into the corporate strategy. Everyone was professional about the subject. You just felt the passion in the room. That was something remarkable.

If you could have one super power, what would it be?
Nothing’s better than inspiring people to do what they love. We are all hard-working people. However, people need guidelines to be passionate every day. No super power is better than lifting up people to do what they love and fulfilling the ultimate goal as a larger group. Together, we build a better world, which is full of innovation.

What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is “Contact.” In the movie, the actress went to a place that she is so desired to go. However, being a scientist, she couldn’t prove she went to another universe even though she knew she went there by heart. We call that belief sometimes. I love the out-of-box respect to women and how little we know about the universe as scientists. And, we have to keep innovation and improve to know more.

What are you passionate about at SAP?
Being part of the HR Goes Cloud initiatives excites me! I get to lead an exceptional team of people who manages our Success Map solution. We are behind every curtain and every door, and it couldn’t be more thrilling!

What’s your favorite thing about working at SAP?
The opportunities to develop yourself at SAP provides an amazing culture. We are in an environment to constantly learn, motivate, and challenge yourself.

What's one item on your bucket list?
One day I would like to learn to play the guitar. If I could master a few songs to play around a campfire, then I would accomplish something I find quite intimidating and hard to do.

What’s your favorite movie?
It’s difficult to have only one, so I will name two: “Shawshank Redemption” and “Finding Nemo.” I like to see people overcome challenges in the end – those are the movies that usually make me cry with joy.
