Application for SAP Digital Skills Initiative

Hi @David_Chaviano and team,

Thank you for the SAP Digital skills initiative to help the underserved and deserving candidates. I identify myself under the following categories:

1. People looking to switch their careers mid-life.
2. First generation college students.
3. People in remote or underserved locations that may be not have access to the same economic opportunities as their urban or more privileged counterparts.

I'm planning to shift career from accounting (bookkeeping) to SAP consulting for the following reasons:

1. I've always been interested in technology and how it can help people and businesses to automate /improve the efficiency of the processes.
2. I'm more of an analysis and research driven person.

Having accounting knowledge coupled with the reasons above, I've chosen to shift to SAP functional consulting (with a long-term goal of becoming a techno functional consultant for fiori apps as I've some knowledge of JS & react).

An opportunity like SAP Digital Skills Initiative would be a huge boost both mentally and professionally for me. Looking forward to hearing from you, and at my journey in this path.

Hi David, thanks for the invite and the quick response.

I was in finance and accounting field. Though I enjoyed it a bit, I found myself more of someone who would like to automate/improve the efficiency of the processes. I'm also passionate about technology and the solutions it offers to automate/improve the efficiency. 

I was looking for a field where I could leverage my finance and accounting skills as well as work with latest technology. And that is how ventured into this path of SAP consulting. Though I'm at baby steps, I hope to see myself as a knowledgeable member of the community with support from people like you and the SAP team.

Experience in financial accounting and SAP is a winning combination. SAP Finance roles are one of the most sought after in the job market.

All of our finance certifications are still only commercially available on SAP Learning Hub. With time, hopefully some of them will be made available for free on learning.sap.com.
