What is the difference between TYPE and LIKE exaclty.

Hi,

Type refers to data type like C or I or N etc...

example :

matnr type mara-matnr.

Like refers to data object.

can also use in programs like:

matnr like mara-matnr.

I am not getting the exact difference in both.
