What does the client field specify in the SAP Logon ? What are the functionalities performed by a client ? And What are the facilities availed ?

Hi
There are different meanings.
Functionality point of View CLIENT is the highest hierarchial Orgn entity in any module
Clients again are different from each box/system like DEV,Quality and PRD.
Generally we create more clients in DEV system one for technical and other for sandbox and other for Customization etc.
This is a Mandatory field in all tables.
Because each client data is different for the same tables.
So your log on client means this here.
In other terminology client means the CUstomer or the Orgn to whom you are rendering your services/doing work.
Reward points if useful

Hi Sai,
In commercial, organizational, and technical terms, a self-contained unit in an SAP system with separate master records and its own set of tables.

when you create object then some of the object are client dependent and some independent. So when you create a client dependent object ( like client dependent table or sapscript or query), you will not get them in other client. But if you create a client dependent object like reports, then you can have in in every client.
