Unable to trigger events - SM64

Hi,

NW701 SR1 SP3 Trial - Windows 2003 SP2.

I must be doing something silly but I cannot seem to get events to raise using SM64. If I use an existing Background Processing Event and choose Trigger, then give it a target, events do not appear in SM62 which is always completely blank. Can someone let me know where I'm going wrong?

Thanks!

Hello,

Did you follow the steps enlisted by SAP in this documentation:

[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/44/c079239d3756a2e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/44/c079239d3756a2e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm]

Hi Suhas,

Thanks for the reply. I did follow the steps below but am not receiving events in SM62. If I use the SAP_TEST BckProcEvent in SM64, right-click and choosing Event - Trigger, passing a paramater or not passing a paramter, choosing a target server or not, there are still zero events received displayed in SM62. I'm using a freshly-installed NW 7.0.1 SR1 SP3 system when logged on as DDIC.

Any help appreciated.

Procedure

Triggering an Event in the Local System

1. If you want to raise an event that was already raised, start Event History (transaction SM62).

If you want to raise an event, start Background Events (transaction SM64).

2. Choose the event you want to raise.

3. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Trigger.

4. On the Trigger an Event screen, enter an event argument if necessary, and choose a target server.

5. Choose Trigger.

The event appears at the bottom of the list in the event history.

Hi. Can anyone offer any other advice for this? I'm assuming raising these alerts is pretty straightforward so am wondering if I'm missing some sort of prerequisite during the setup. I'm using the Trial version with out of the box settings. Everything else seems to be working fine, I've loaded some transports and can run jobs etc.

Any help appreciated.
