Type x conversion for Word doc creation

Hi Guys,

Some of the variables declared as type X data types and their values '09' for tab delimited, '0D' for carriage retun, and '0A' for line feed were used in 4.6B version. The data is downloading into word doc template file.

But where as in ECC5.0 version, as we are checking unicode active in program attributes, these conversions are taking place..

How SAP suggested to use the follwing class..

DATA: C1(1), C2(1), C2(1);

class cl_abap_char_utilities definition load.

C1 = cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab.

C2 = cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf.

C3 = cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf.

C1 for tab delimited, C2 for carriage return and C3 for line feed..

How ever all the above statements returning same value '#'(C1 = C2 = C3 = '#'). But C1 = '#' is okay because a tab delimited data appearing in the output file. But others(carriage return, line feeds are not working as it is returning the same character like tab delimited '#").

Please any one suggest, how to convert line feed and carriage return into Character type. or Any other solution to deal with problem..

did you try converting the whole document into binary/xstring format before passing it on to word doc template?

Hi guys,

I want to convert any doc into binary/Xstring in SAP E-Recruitment before calling the bapi BAPI_ERC_UPDATE_ATTACHMENT , which requires the FILE_SPLIT TYPE BAPICONTEN ( type raw 1022 ) as import parameter, so any idea which FM will help me to convert the doc into binary / xstring format.

Tried using FM GUI_upload but it converts only text files.

Thanks in advance for ur replies
