Transport Request Problem

(Iam sorry this problem doesnt belongs to this catogory; but just trying my luck)

Dear Experts,

Our SAP system got a problem with a transport request.

one team member has created some configuration works ( i belive very importent customizing settings) and assigned all these settings with two Transport Requests. But while creating the requests he has not defined the Target system in the request. ie. target system field in the request header is blank. This member has left the project team and he has left the company also. And, now one of our basis member has released the request, without checking the target system settings. SO in the development system , that request is now released. But its not displaying any log. And in the production system we are not able to find the requst. That means, we are not able to import the request in the production system.

And the most dangerous part is that, we dont have any documentation regarding the changes and settings associated with the request. So no way to repeat all the configuration settings again, to create a new request.

Is there any way to modify the released requests header ( and add the target system) and re release again?? Or is there any other way to get a backup or anything of the released erquest, so that i can import it in the production system ( If its able to get the released request as a file, i think we can copy it into the production and do tp; manual tp)

Iam able to see the request in SE10 as released. but dont displays any log.

Any kind of help/suggestions will be highly appreciable.

This is very urgent, because we have to go live next week.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Deepak

Hi Deepak,

Create a new request and then in SE09, use the option "Include Objects" from a request...

keep the cursor on the new request and choose the menu option..Request/Task --> Object List --> Include Objects..

Thanks & Regards,

Renjith

Hi Renjith,

Thanks for responding.

The released request contains customizing settings. If i included the objects from the released requests into my new request, will it affect the released request? Becoz, i dont want to lose anything from that request..and i cant take a risk.

Can i try including object list from the released request?

Hi Deepak,

Yes you can...

Also...after including ...pls manually verify the object list(in the released request & the new one) to make sure everything is there..!

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Deepak,

I feel one way is you can manually copy the files in

to the production system and import them, if you are

sure of the changes.

Once you release the request it will create two files

in the server with the released data.

Path is : ....\sapmnt\trans in that in cofiles and data

folder you can find header and data of your request.

First goto cofiles folder in the dev sys and copy ur

request file (Ex : K900599.C30) in the bold is

your request. no. C30 is your system ID.

Paste to the cofiles folder of your

production system. In the same way copy data file also.

Then goto STMS and try to import the request.

Hope this will be helpful to you.

But be sure right file you are transfering and changes

are good to transport.

And one more thing is you can copy the old request

create new.

Thanks & Regards,

Siri.

Hi Srilatha,

Thanks a lot for responding. Since i dont have the os level accessto the server, i created the new request, and added the objects manually.

Anyway thanks again.

Thanks & Regards

Deepak
