The main difference is that with top-down, you start at the top and work your way down. With bottom up, you start at the bottom and work your way up. Which is the best approach depends on the scenario. For example, if you're looking for a job, usually the latter approach is best.

Top-Down Approach:

Creating Table -> Data Element -> Domain

Bottom-Up Approach:

Domain -> Data Element -> Table.

The TOP-DOWN APPROACH is the best one.

Hi Srinath,

Are u asking this approches regarding to SAP? or just general. Because u dint provide any thing.

Any ways, As i know one in data dictionry for creating a data base table you have two appoches 1. TOP-TO-BOTTOM 2. BOTTOM-TO-TOP Approch.

1. In top-to-bottom appoch in which we direclty give table name and create then after double clicking on data element we create data element and in data element double clicking on domain name we create the domain . This approch is easy and very time saving.

2. Bottom-to-top.: in this way first you have to create domain in SE11 and then assian that domain to data element and then create a table and give the created data element for a particluar fiedl. This is a bit time consuming but very gud way to learn.
