SUIM does not show composite roles

I am suing SUIM to find the list of roles that have a particular transaction. But the report shows only simple roles, not composite. Please explain.

Make sure in the 'Standard Selection' under SUIM-> Role by Complex selection Criteria' Composite Roles is checked.

For accuracy use the object S_TCODE in 'Selection According to Authorization Values in SUIM-> Role by Complex selection Criteria

Rest all fields shoud be empty.

Composite roles are usefull to club Single Roles and quick fixes to design errors without having to go through the rigorous process of changing the user's role assignment (bar some magic at midnight... )

That SUIM ignores them (except for information purposes) is correct in my opinion.

In addition to what Arjun has said, Please ensure that the check box against the Single Roles & Composite Roles are checked in the Roles by complex search criteria option though it is usually checked by default.

After this, If it is still displaying only the single roles, then it must be that these single roles are not a part of any composite roles in your system.

Thanks,

Saby..

We actually have two landscapes. Both are 4.7 systems. In one of the landscapes, as you said, it shows the checkboxes single roles, composite roles and yes they both are checked. In another landscape, the checkboxes are not there at all and this is the one that does not show compsote roles.

Hi,

the option comes with SAPKB62036 and can only be implmented by Supportpackage, as a new GUI status for the seleciton screen is delivered.

SPKB62034 is more than 4 years outdated.... so considering implementation of 'some' supportpackages might be a good idea...

Perhaps you should reconsider what a composite role is, and whether (or where - e.g. for a menu only) it is appropriate to use them....
