Hi All,

My requirement is to download the file to a local machine in background mode using FTP. I want to use FTP_CONNECT in my program to build a connection to the presentation server. For this I need to setup RFC destinations to my local desktop using SM59. Can you please guide me as how to setup RFC destination to local machine. Thanks a lot for your help!!

Regards,

Priti

Hi,

this is a good idea, but not possible.

But why download to your local machine in BG?? This means your machine has to be running. So why not WS_DOWNLOAD in separate mode?

Good luck!

Hi Jo,

thanks for your reply. actually the requirement is, job runs in the background and it creates a file which i need to download it to the local workstation :(.

Please let me know if there is any other option to do it other than FTP and RFC dest.

thanks a lot.

Hi Priti!

As far as making RFC connection is concerned

goto-> SM59

third button is the CREATE button..

click on it.

give the destination name as u want

select connection-type as 3(press enter).

under tab TECHNICAL SETTINGS:

give description(not mandatory)

give IP address of target in target host

sys no. of target in system number

Gateway Host target Ip

Gateway service 33+THE SYS NO.(eg 3300)

Under tab logon security:

Language EN

Client target client

User target's userid

PW target's password

finally save everythng.

and test connection.

if u face any probs.get back to me.
