Hi,

Transporting of New Secondary Indexes built to table x , to production environment .

Can it effect users while they are working on trans. that uses the relevant

table ?.

Hi,

Yes, if you have transported the Secondaru Index to the Production environment, then it will effect the Transaction which is using this secondary indexs.

I meant if the users can get a dump while running the trans.

Hi Hagit,

Yes, you have to be careful transporting secondary indexes, because a new index causes a reorganization of table registries, and these affect the transactions where the table is used. If the table is important, for example VBAK, EKKO, this kind of transport should do it when there are not users in the production environment. If the index is related with a Z table that no have a lot importance, the transport can be do it. This transports should be done with consent of the team basis.
