i need to print the packing details that we enter in the text tab strip control in the transaction va23 in a smartform.

but i am unable to find out in which table the text(packing details for eg:1 ltr aluminium bottles) are getting saved.

Hi Sujatha,

these texts are stored in a different format hence u cannot directly read them from any table..u need to use a function module 'READ_TEXT' n pass the parameters with it to get these texts... every text is associated with these parameters uniqely..these parameters u can c within the transaction itself.. goto the SAPscript Editor of the text(by clicking the display button below the text BOX), here in the editor > GOTO>HEADER--> here u ll c the parameters..> text id, object and name..these r the values u need to pass to 'READ_TEXT' to get the text..

This will be stored as long text. U need to read the text using the fm READ_TEXT. The import parameters for this fn are object, id and text name. U can get this details from the table STXH if u know the object name OR GO to the long text editor in the transaction VA23 and choose go to - header.

Hi,

Use following thread information for how to get TEXT ID, Text Name for a particular long text maintained.

Ujsing this text ID, use FM : READ_TEXT and get the content to show it into your program.
