Hello Experts.
I need to create new entries to add-on tables in SE16N not in SE16 because of a specific reason.
When trying to do that, I noticed that maintenance entries checkbox which needs to be flagged to edit table entries is disabled.
However, according to the SAP Note: 3106753, it seems that for some tables like DD07T maintenance entries checkbox is enabled. Hence, for those tables, it is possible to edit table entries.
Please guide me, why is maintenance entries checkbox enabled for tables like DD07T?
what is the difference between tables for which maintenance entries checkbox is disabled and those enabled?
I know that by activating &sap_edit command editing table entries in SE16N can be possible. But I would purely like to clarify the above questions.
Thanks in advance.

Good question. Reproduced in 7.52 SP 0 with DD07T. it's the same as if you go to SE16.
In SE11 > table > delivery maintenance > data browser/table view editing > select "display/maintenance allowed".

Hi kimiyasu,
Remove "X" from sap_edit it will resolve your issue.
Thanks,

Thanks for your reply!
Let me ask how "X" can be removed from sap_edit. is it by debugging?
If so, I would like to know the difference between tables for which maintenance entries checkbox is disabled and those enabled rather than the way to technically resolve my issue by debugging...

It should have been disabled in your system with Security note 1420281
If you want to edit table, use table maintenance generator : SM30

Thanks Frederic!
I thought maintenance entries checkbox should have been disabled for all tables by reading note: 1420281.
However, for some tables like DD07T it is enabled.
Please kindly tell me the reason if possible.

Thanks Sandra!
You're right. After changing the setting in SE11, it becomes possible to edit in SE16N.
The reason why I was unable to edit table entries though I had selected "display/maintenance allowed" in SE11 was that I actually had created a view on the add-on table...

Hello,
To maintain table (standard or customized) it is used. For that particular authorization also required.
However this is not recommended.
(Also had same question and found some idea about Maintain Entries Checkbox in se16n.
Which is enabled in DD07T but not in ex.VBRP.
When check for DD07T -maintain entries check box enabled and after executing you will found add and remove option ,which is not for VBRP ,VBRK etc...
