SAP Report Painter

Hi all,

I copied an existing Report(Report painter) to a user defined report name and i checked the Development Class of the Report generated through the report painter and found it as $Tmp. Can anyone suggest me how to transport the SAP Report generated through Report painter.

How to assign the Development Class while creating the Report throgh Report Painter(GRR1)?

Any help is appreciated.

While u save itself it will ask for the development class.

Assign it from the list by doing an F4 help. Assign it depending upon ur requirement or use generic development class developed.

Hi Subramanian

From your workbench -> goto -> object directory entry -> change -> give your package name or Development class(in case you are using older versions of SAP)

Now you can transport it using SE01 or SE10 after activating.

While creating a new report, it asks for package name / development class, there you can either give $TMP (not transportable) or you can give a package name or development class(in case you are om old version)

It will ask anyway, from that only u can decide whether it is a local object or transportable object.

Try once again.

Hi all,

This is while creating through the Transaction code GRR1(Report Painter). It is not ordinary Report using the Transaction code se38.

Please help.

Execute ur report create by report painter.

from select screen from out the pgm name (Menu : System -> status)

Open that pgm in se38 or se80.

From se38

enter the pgm name & press display mode

Then press display object list or Ctrl + Shift + F5.

select the object name and right click

U can find More function -> change development class or change package

enter the development class & preceed further.

Hi Selvi,

I think u are correct. Development class of the copied report is also Local. Probably if i create a new one, it would ask for the development class.

thanks for reply.
