SAP Order Print Routine

Does anyone know how to configure a PRT so that the order number that it is associated with is automatically inserted in the PRT when it is printed with the order?

We have been able to do this with Word documents that are configured as PRTs. However, we do not know how to do the same thing with Excel or PDF documents. Any advice is appreciated.

Brad,

A Production Resources Tool (PRT) is an object that you can create in SAP and attach to an Order's operation. This object describes a tool, document, drawing, etc. You create the PRT for an Order's operation that requires the use of the tool, document, drawing, etc. Once you attach the PRT to the Order, who ever works the order has access to the PRT. Or, in the case of a tool, knows which kind of tool is required. We also configure our order print routine to print document or drawing PRTs when the order is printed. That way, the information is available for he crews that work the order.

The PRTs we create are normally Job Quality Description (JQD)documents or Job Safety Analysis (JSA)documents that explain how to perform specific tasks or operations.

Thanks for the information Ralph,

I think the old adage applies, if I don't know what it is, I probably don't have the answer.

Sorry.

Hello Everybody,

There is an SAP certified solution for the printing of documents attached to a PRT to an Order from SEAL System.

You can stamp on the document any information contained in the object during the print process.

www.sealsystems.de or

www.sealsystems.com or

www.sealsystems.com.au

dependent upon where you live
