Hi,

So it means, you dont want to overwrite your existing file.

In that case save the file with time stamp. i.e.

TEMP_20070907_101500.txt

You can pass the file name along with time stamp in the program.

Else provide file name as parameter on your report screen.

If the system is a Unicode system:

open dataset gw_file in text mode encoding default.

While saving the text file, if you are using notepad, then in the SAVE AS pop-up select encoding as “UTF-8I”.

If the system is a Non-Unicode system:

SET LOCALE LANGUAGE <>. “Specify the language

open dataset gw_file in text mode encoding NON-UNICODE.

While saving the text file, if you are using notepad, then in the SAVE AS pop-up select encoding as “ANSI”.
